Summer greetings to former & future guests!

I created this blog (my first attempt, so bear with me!) so I can provide news and updates about our rental house on Longboat Key, FL as well as area local events, attractions or special deals for a particular time. 

I also wanted to publish reviews from our guests, along with any photos or experiences from their vacation that they would like to share.  We all know how scary it is to choose a vacation spot without having seen it first, so hopefully this will help assure any newcomers that our little cottage is the best spot in paradise!

My husband, Mark and I have been so fortunate to have had so many lovely couples and families rent "our little piece of heaven" at Longboat Key.  We have had a very busy spring and now summer is in full swing.  For the first time we had our own private fireworks show July 4th, courtesy of Moore's Crab House and Mar Vista right in front of the house!  It was a terrific display and there were hundreds of people all gathered around the cove or in their boats.  The best part was no traffic jams because we could just stroll out to our little dock on the bay!  It was such a big success, they are certain it will be repeated again next year.

Although it has been a very hot summer, our guests have loved the absence of rain, so they can enjoy the beaches and water to the fullest extent!  Our kayak has been a big hit because it affords people the pleasure of exploring the bay if they don't own a boat.  Of course, for those that would like to experience the sea firsthand, Mark can host fishing or sightseeing charters for our guests or we can refer you to a number of local vendors in the area.

Since many of our northern visitors tend to stay in their own neck of the woods in the fall, they have left the best season wide open for those in the south!  In my opinion, October through December are the most glorious months on the key because the temperatures are cooler with great breezes, hurricane season is over and the beaches are far less crowded because school is back in session.  

To thank you all for your interest in our property, we are offering you a $50 discount for rentals in September!  I also wanted to inform you that due to high demand, the Labor Day weekend will only be available as part of a weekly rental.
